I am attracted to the organic shapes found in nature which I capture with oil paints on canvas. My current work is an exploration of the details, natural forms, and emotions I find when studying a blossom. I am continually amazed by how even the smallest flower is filled with unique shapes and delightful curves. Through my painting I explore how colors interact together, how to create movement, and how light, shadow, and color effect mood. I try to help the viewer see even the smallest or most common flower in a new way by creating large representations of the most fascinating areas of the peddles. My paintings have a strong emotional base. Through the use of light and shadow, the depiction of form, and expressing emotion through color and texture, I create interesting places for the viewers mind to discover and their spirit to explore.
